In our ‘Where Are They Now’ series we’ll be taking a look back at some of our past players and hearing from them as they provide an update on what they’re up to these days.

This week, we heard from former Sky Blue striker Bruno Cazarine, as he hosted a live Facebook chat on Tuesday night.

Cazarine joined the Sky Blues in August 2010 and quickly established himself as a fan’s favourite, ending his first season at Sydney FC as the club’s highest goalscorer and winning a one-year contract extension in the process.

The Brazilian’s second season in Sky Blue was almost as prolific, and Cazarine further cemented his cult hero status with his endeavors in the AFC Champions League, scoring brace to earn Sydney FC a famous 3-2 victory over Shanghai Shenhua.

A goal in an Australia Day #BigBlue in 2012 showcased an iconic goal celebration from the Brazilian before Sydney FC bowed out in the Finals Series, as Cazarine departed the club to return to Brazil for family reasons.

In total, Cazarine made 50 Hyundai A-League appearances for the Sky Blues, scoring 17 goals.

Following a globetrotting career, Cazarine now runs an e-commerce business, selling shoes, with over 83 stores shared with his wife across Brazil – www.oscarcalcados.com.br

Hear from Bruno Cazarine:

“I’m with my family in Brazil, I’m working for my family business here [in Brazil] since I decided to retire from football.

“My family owns a retail shoe business here in Brazil. I’m doing good business since I left Sydney nearly 10 years ago, it’s going well and we’re growing with 83 stores in Brazil.”
