Sydney FC Foxtel National Youth League defender Jacob Tratt says he wants the Sky Blues to be the best team in this city.

Sydney FC take on the Western Sydney Wanderers at Marconi on Saturday (kick off 5pm) with the Wanderers on a three game win streak.

Although the Wanderers sit in sixth place, while Sydney FC is in first, Tratt believes the form of both sides means it will be a massive encounter.

“We want to be known as the best Sydney team and also the best team in the Youth League,” Tratt said.

“It may as well be a top of the table clash, especially with their form at the moment. The Wanderers are coming off 3 very convincing wins.

“Hopefully we can get the result we need because the boys have been putting in the hard yards.”

The Sydney Derby is well and truly alive at National Youth League level and Tratt says it-s always occupying the thoughts of the squad.

“The boys always talk about it,” said Tratt.

“There-s a bit of extra competitiveness against the Western Sydney Wanderers. We want to stamp our authority.”

The Sky Blues last met the Wanderers in round one, emerging victorious after a 90th minute goal from Chris Naumoff, and Tratt is hopeful there will be another bumper crowd to cheer the team on.

“Hopefully we-ll get a good crowd.

“I remember the first game of the season we ended up getting a pretty good crowd out there.

“It-s going to be a very tough game but the fans can expect to see a lot of goals because both teams have been scoring a lot,” he concluded.
