Wagga Welcomes Grant For Clinic

For the rural town of Wagga Wagga in New South Wales, the visits of professional athletes are few and far between.

For the kids at Sydney FC’s Wagga Wagga Spring Holiday Clinic however, it was a visit they received as Sky Blue star Rhyan Grant made the trip to spend the day with the participants.

The Sydney FC defender spent the day coaching the kids and putting them through their paces, while also taking time out to pose for photos and sign autographs.

Grant, born in rural NSW himself, said it was great to be able to visit the Clinic and bring the Hyundai A-League to Wagga.

“It was fun going out to Wagga to visit the kids at the Clinic,” Grant said.

“They don’t get many pros going out that way so to see the smiles on the kids’ faces was really pleasing.

“It was good to get involved with the sessions and chat to the kids too. I just told them how it works at Sydney FC and what they need to do if they want to get to that level.”

Sydney FC’s Spring Holiday Clinics saw 10 sessions held at nine different venues in eight of the Sky Blues affiliated associations in a great two week period.
