Sydney FC’s W-League clash with Newcastle Jets has been moved to ANZ Stadium next Saturday 9 January and will now become a double header with the Hyundai A-League match between the two sides that evening.
The rescheduled match will kick off at 2pm and will be broadcast LIVE by FOX Sports and ABC TV.
The draw changes reflect the outstanding success of the Hyundai A-League / Westfield W-League double headers throughout the 2015/16 season, which has given elite women’s football increased exposure both in attendance and broadcast.
“The double headers have been a tremendous initiative this year and we are pleased to be able to schedule two more over the final two rounds of the season,” said Head of the Hyundai A-League Damien de Bohun.
“It has given women’s football a well-deserved boost through increased attendance and broadcast exposure and it has also given fans attending A-League matches extra value for money.
“I’d like to thank the clubs, players, broadcast partners and venues for working with us to lock in these two double headers.”
