Time is fast running out for you to sign up to Sydney FC-s Easter Holiday Grassroots Clinics, as the club searches for new young stars.
January-s first ever courses were hailed a big success with 20 older youngsters invited back for extra coaching and monitoring throughout the season.
12 year old Zach Duncan from Sydney-s western suburbs was one of the boys who benefitted from the four day Talent ID Clinic.
“It was really enjoyable and we got to play around with the first team boys,” he said.
“We did lots of shooting, we played lots of games and I made lots of new friends.”
The course also included the unique chance to be coached by Sydney FC-s Head of Youth Development and former English Premier League star Ian Crook.
“It was good being coached by Ian,” said Zach. “He-s really good and technical.
“I-d love to be professional [one day] and to be playing in front of thousands of people.”
Zach-s dad, Trevor Duncan was also very impressed by what the Talent ID Clinics had to offer.
“I thought the clinics were very good, they were very professionally run and the level of coaching was excellent.
“I know I was very excited to see the first team boys so I can image how excited Zach was to actually play with them.
“How can the kids go wrong when they are surrounded by professional footballers,” he continued.
“I do think this course will give Zach a chance to see where he-s at and keep striving towards that end goal.”
The deadline for applications for the Grassroots Easter Clinic, ages 5-10 is this Tuesday 10th April, so parents and children are being urged to sign up quick if they want to be a part of it.
