Today we’re looking at the impressive midfield stats of Paulo Retre.
Deployed in a number of roles since joining the Sky Blues, Retre has without a doubt shined in defensive midfield, making the place vacated by Brandon O’Neill his own.
From the 19 games he’s featured in so far this season, Retre holds a 86.3% passing accuracy, while making 13 crosses from open play, five key passes and bagging one assist.
In defence, Retre has made 26 clearances, 17 interceptions and six blocks when tasked with tracking back while contesting 28 tackles and 142 duels.
Retre has also found a way forward, and from his five shots at goal the midfielder has scored two goals this season, both against Adelaide United in January at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium.
