Today we’re looking at the solid defensive stats of Sydney FC Captain Alex Wilkinson.
He’s been at the heart of the Sky Blues’ defence through our most successful period in history, and Wilkinson’s 2019/20 stats continue to show the former Socceroo’s strengths.
Wilkinson has started every game for the Sky Blues’ this season, for a total of 1,791 minutes of action on the pitch.
The towering centre back has made 90 clearances, 19 blocks, and 14 interceptions while also winning seven of his 11 attempted tackles.
The 35 year old has also won 49 duels and 34 aerial duels to ensure the Sky Blues currently boast the least number of goals conceded so far this season.
The Sky Blues’ Captain currently holds a 93% passing accuracy and laid on one assist and one key pass to spark attacks going forward.
Perhaps most remarkable for a defender, from his 20 games played so far this season Alex Wilkinson has only conceded the one foul against.
