Sydney FC Championship winner Ufuk Talay has been announced as Assistant Coach for AIS Men’s Football Program.

Sydney FC Championship winner Ufuk Talay has been announced as Assistant Coach for AIS Men-s Football Program.

Talay was a member of Sydney FC-s inaugural squad that won the 2005/06 Hyundai A-League Grand Final.

Following a distinguished domestic career in Australia and abroad including stints at Marconi, Galatasaray and Sydney FC, Talay finished his career in the Hyundai A-League at the end of the 2010/11 season before stepping into coaching.

Working alongside AIS Senior Coach Tony Vidmar, the former Sydney FC and North Queensland Fury midfielder was given the position after impressing during the recent A-License course.

“Ufuk stood out at the recent A-licence course and it-s great to have another former top level player teaching the new generation,” said FFA Technical Director Han Berger. “He has a solid foundation in the game and apart from a strong playing background is also astute in his understanding of the game at a technical level.”
