Sydney FC midfielder Nick Carle was anxiously awaiting the live Twitter chat, running off the training field and straight into a massage whilst answering all your questions. Carle was very relaxed during the chat, making sure he stayed true to himself when responding to Member and Fans questions. At the conclusion of the 60 minutes Nicky answered 40 questions and was the tenth trending topic in Sydney during the hour, which was a great effort from the social media rooky.

This was the fourth instalment of the live Twitter chat and will continue to be a fortnightly engagement for Sydney FC Members and Fans to interact with Sky Blue players, coaches and staff. The next live chat #SydneyFanChat will be on the 15 August at 12:30pm.

Here is a transcript of the 40 questions, with Nick Carle-s answers.

Patrick Wills: Who is the best player you’ve played with, and the best you’ve played against?
#SydneyFanChat For = Troy Halpin locally so gifted, overseas Victor Moses most natural ability I’ve seen. Against = Messi

[m.d]: Any chance of getting you on twitter permanently, Nick?
#SydneyFanChat No chance sorry. Not a social network guy, I don’t even have Facebook

Marq Darby: Nick, Did you ever contemplate playing club football in Sth America or was Europe always your dream when you were young?
#SydneyFanChat I did go to Uruguay for a trial @ Nacional when young – you can learn a lot but Europe is where I hoped to end up

liam ruz: Nicky, how many goals are you looking to put away this season?
#SydneyFanChat Depends on what position I play. Never been one to get many goals, if I can get 5-10 I’d be happy, I also like to create goals.

Phillip Stama: Spoke with your uncle John and he mentioned there will be a lot of tickitaka football the coming season. Is the title ours?
#SydneyFanChat I hope so, pre-season has been excellent and we’ve some great new recruits playing good football

#SydneyFanChat I’m very happy here it’s my sole focus although I’m a west Sydney boy I hope they do well I hope to stay for my career

Bec Giddy: Hey Nicky, what’s the best way to get confidence back after a serious injury? Or does it just come back with time?

Alex Wain: Hey Nicky thanks 4 talking to the fans. Who’s been the most influential coach in your career so far & why?
#SydneyFanChat It is hard to pick one, as I have been lucky to have had many good coaches. Alain Perrin would be the most influential; I spent 6 months in France under him and learnt a lot

Andrew French: Have you set yourself a goal/assist target for the upcoming season?
#SydneyFanChat I’d be happy with anything more than 5 goals but as many assists as possible it’s a regular part of my game
