Round one of the Hyundai A-League season is almost upon us and on Sunday Sydney FC will begin the final count-down to kick-off when it stages its annual Fan Day, which this year will be held at its home ground, the Sydney Football Stadium.

This free event will give Sky Blues- supporters a great chance to get up close and personal with their sporting idols and wish them well as they enter the final week of their preparations for the coming campaign.

“Without the fans there would be no (Hyundai)A-League so our supporters are very important to us,” said Sydney FC Captain, Steve Corica. “The players always look forward to Fan Day. It-s a great opportunity to thanks the fans for their strong support and a great way to start the season.”

There will be a host of free activities for fans of all ages on Sunday, ranging from face painting to human Foosball, as well as tug of war and a soccer shoot-out. Supporters will also have the chance to get autographs and photos with their favourite footballers, and enjoy a behind the scenes look at the SFS and gain an insight into what the players experience on game day.

Club merchandise will be on sale at the ground, with Fans able to purchase their new 2009/10 jerseys and other Sydney FC gear from the Merchandise Tent which will be set up on-field at the Sydney Football Stadium.

The Fan Day gets underway at the Stadium at 10am on Sunday, with free entry for all and free parking available at the SFS.
