Sydney FC Head Coach Ian Crook has praised the attitude, talent and enthusiasm of the 130 players who took part in Sydney FC-s High Performance and Talent ID adidas coaching clinics.

The course was run over three days of the July school holidays, with the most improved players invited back for a final “Future Sky Blues” day of extra training, leading to further monitoring.

It-s the third adidas High Performance and Talent ID Clinic Sydney FC has run this year, and a further clinic is scheduled for September.

“It-s been very pleasing this time. I think the standard has improved each clinic. They-re a good group technically and they-re willing to learn. It has been impressive,” said Crook.

The players were taught technical skills on the field with passing and shooting drills, as well as small sided games, while parents were included off-the-field in a tactical and theory lecture, plus a question and answer session.

For Head Coach Crook, who begins pre-season training with Sydney FC-s A-League squad on Monday, there-s one thing that has impressed him the most.

“The enthusiasm,” he said. “For me if you don-t love the game you can-t work in it. At this age they love the game, every single one of them just wants to play.

“They are coming here and they are trying their heart out, and it-s just because they love it.”

July-s clinics were heavily over-subscribed and parents are urged to register their interests early to gain entry into the next course.
