Sydney FC-s adidas Talent ID and Development Clinics got off to a fantastic start today with more than 130 young players aged between 5 and 15, taking to the fields of Sydney FC-s training base, in glorious sunshine.

The participants were given their own adidas kit to wear before heading out on to the pitches for training by Sydney FC-s High Performance coaches, while their parents sat back and made use of the Schibello Coffee on offer.

“We-ve had over 130 kids come through today which is our highest number for a January clinic,” said Sydney FC-s Community Football Officer Daniel Barrett.

“The standard has been good, the boys and girls have come in and worked really hard in some tough conditions, it has been pretty warm out there today, but day 1 has been a good success.

The players were split into two different age groups in order to tailor relevant football skills and development to each child.

“We started off with some good individual technique stuff working on dribbling and passing an receiving, then progressing through to some small sided game and then finishing off with some finishing today,” continued Barrett.

After the session the younger players were treated to Gelatissimo ice-cream and before being whisked off to meet the Sydney FC first team squad, who signed autographs and had their photos taken with them.

“That-s the buzz for them and that-s what they like to do,” said Dan. “This clinic provides an opportunity for them to get up and close with the players and they certainly did that today.

“They got plenty of autographs and photos and later on they-ll get the opportunity to have a look at a training session which will be very special for them too.”

Sydney FC-s adidas Talent ID and Development Clinics Clinics take place every school holidays for children aged between 5 and 15 years old. More information can be found on this page
