Sydney FC today terminated the Contract and Employment of goalkeeper Liam Reddy for breaching his Standard Player Contract, effective immediately.

Reddy-s contract was terminated after he was found to be in breach of clause 11.3 (b) of the Standard Player Contract, which relates to “serious misconduct”.

Reddy and his representative appeared at a meeting with Sydney FC Acting CEO Stefan Kamasz and Football Director Gary Cole on Thursday morning and was given the opportunity to explain his conduct and satisfy Sydney FC that he was not guilty of “serious misconduct”.

Sydney FC considered Reddy-s response in Thursday-s meeting, as well as the undisputed facts, and determined he failed to satisfy the Club that his conduct was not in breach of clause 11.3(b) of the Standard Player Contract.

Accordingly, Sydney FC terminated his employment, effective immediately, under clause 11.3(b) of the Standard Player Contract.

“Sydney FC today terminated the employment and contract of Liam Reddy following incidents that took place before, during and after a flight to Wellington before the recent semi final,” said Sydney FC Acting CEO Stefan Kamasz.

“Those actions represented serious misconduct and do not reflect the actions we believe to be appropriate for a professional football player with Sydney FC.”
