Sydney FC-s playing stars are proving their skills don-t just lie on the football field by picking up the phones and joining the Sky Blues Membership drive.
The players are testing out their sales techniques by calling Members who haven-t yet renewed to encourage them back on board for the 2013/14 Hyundai A-League season.
New signing Pedj Bojic, young midfielder Peter Triantis and striker-s Mitch Mallia and Joel Chianese have all taken part so far, while fans can expect calls from the likes of Nick Carle, Vedran Janjetovic and Ali Abbas in the coming weeks.
“It-s always good to speak to the Members and fans and we-ve converted a fair few already, which is what we want for the coming season,” said Pedj Bojic.
“It-s always a great atmosphere when I-ve played against Sydney down here (at Allianz Stadium) so it-s going to be awesome playing in front of them.
“And I know they-re going to get behind us in even bigger numbers this year because we-re going to prove it on the field,” he continued.
Forward Joel Chianese joined Pedj in calling the Members.
“I think you can tell with their reaction, that they get quite surprised when you call and they want to ask some questions about you as a player,” he said.
“They really appreciate the players doing it I think, which is really good.”
Members who have renewed haven-t been left out however and are being encouraged to call up at the advertised times (Sydney FC facebook and Sydney FC twitter) to speak to the players and wish them all the best for the coming season.
“I think it-s a good connection with the players and the club itself to be part of Sydney FC to have a Membership,” added Pedj. “So having that stability through the Membership is a great thing to have.”
The next opportunity to sign up for your Sydney FC Membership and speak with the Sky Blues players will be on Thursday 11th July between 5.30pm and 7.30pm; when Vedran Janjetovic and Matt Jurman will be dialling out and taking calls.
