Sydney FC have locked in their E-League squad for the 2020 competition, with Jamie ‘FUTWIZ Jamie’ O’Doherty joining the Sky Blues on Xbox from Adelaide United.

O’Doherty represented the Reds in 2018 and 2019, reaching the Finals in both seasons, and is a current professional player with FUTWIZ, alongside reigning Champion Mark ‘FUTWIZ_Marko’ Brijeski.

The Xbox star is currently ranked 16th in the World on FIFA.gg and currently sits 1st in Australia. Alongside his Sky Blue team mate for 2020, O’Doherty has also qualified for the eClub World Cup, becoming the first Australian duo to do so.

On moving to the reigning E-League Champions, O’Doherty said he was excited by the challenge ahead of him.

“I’m really looking forward to joining forces with Marko at Sydney FC this season,” O’Doherty said.

“Sydney FC have been the benchmark in the competition for the last two seasons and I believe I can take my game to a whole new level in Sky Blue.

“As part of FUTWIZ with Marko, we know what it takes to win and I’ll be giving my all to take home the title this year.”

Originally from Adelaide, O’Doherty will travel to Sydney for matchdays and represent the Sky Blues in the Xbox format of the competition.

A new format of the E-League competition will kick off in February, with the Grand Final to be held in May.

The winner of the E-League will qualify for the EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Global Series Playoffs and will have a chance to become FIFA eWorld Cup Champion at the FIFA eWorld Cup 2020. On top of this, two competitors will earn the right to represent Australia at the FIFA eNations Cup 2020.
