Sydney FC have re-signed promising young striker Charles Lokoli-Ngoy for a further season, the club confirmed today.
The rising prodigy made his way through the Sky Blues’ youth and NPL squads, scoring 27 goals in 28 games in his breakout season in 2016, before earning a one year scholarship and subsequent one year deal as a member of Sydney FC’s record breaking Hyundai A-League squad.
Lokoli-Ngoy made his Hyundai A-League debut for the Sky Blues in Round 7 of season 2017/18, and the 21 year old said he was excited to be on board for season 2018/19.
“I’m glad to be remaining a Sydney FC player for another season,” Lokoli-Ngoy said.
“I’ve got so much left to learn and I believe I can develop even more under Head Coach Steve Corica.
“I’m excited for the year ahead and I want to prove myself here and in the AFC Champions League.”
Sydney FC Head Coach Steve Corica said he was looking forward to seeing Lokoli-Ngoy develop further in the new season.
“Charlie is an exciting raw talent and I’m eager to see him further hone his game this year,” he said.
“He’s quick and strong and has plenty to offer the squad, now it’s about harnessing his skills and unleashing him on the competition.
“I’m expecting Charlie to provide stiff competition for places this season and make his mark in season 2018/19.”
