Young students are set to benefit from invaluable practical help on their path to a career within the sports industry thanks to an innovative new course designed to offer on-the-job training within professional football.
Young students are set to benefit from invaluable practical help on their path to a career within the sports industry thanks to an innovative new course designed to offer on-the-job training within professional football.
The new Sydney FC Sports and Business Program is a one-year dual diploma powered by SEDA Group (SEDA). The program will give students the chance to study in a hands-on environment at the five-time A-League Champions.
The partnership with SEDA aims to expose students to a range of learning opportunities which will help them in designing their own careers and make positive contribution to their community.
Chief Executive Officer Danny Townsend said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to establish a strong connection to our football club, and learn from our sports industry experts, coaches and elite athletes.
“As an innovative organisation, we are committed to making an impact on the educational journey of students who want a career in sport.
“The Sydney FC Sport & Business Program not only provides students with unique learning opportunities in an elite sports environment, students will also help Sydney FC continue to deliver value to grassroots clubs, corporate partners, Members and fans and the community.”
Students will have the opportunity to develop skills in everything from football specific high-performance activities, such as coaching, physiotherapy and sports science, to other areas around the business, including sponsorship, fundraising, event management, media and marketing.
Applications are open to all eligible Year 12 graduate students for the new diploma program which is beginning in January 2022.
