Sydney FC-s players have given their approval for the new adidas playing strips they-ll be wearing throughout the Hyundai A-League season 2013/14.

The Sky Blues will wear a new slightly lighter home kit with a sunken navy blue neckline as well as the popular black away jersey featuring horizontal shale panelling.

The goalkeepers also have a new set of colours to enjoy including a bright red home jersey, with blue and yellow change strips.

“I actually really like the keeper-s strip,” said new signing Richard Garcia. “But I do like the other strips which are very nice as well.

“They are great colours so I-m looking forward to playing in them.”

Striker Corey Gameiro was another who gave the kits the thumbs up after modelling the strip along with Garcia and keeper Vedran Janjetovic this morning.

“I reckon they look fresh, they feel fresh and look nice,” he said. “The keeper-s one is pretty bright which is good, it might throw a few of the strikers off.

“The black one looks pretty mean I think, and you-ve got to keep the Sky Blue one going.

“That looks really nice and I-m sure the fans will be looking good in the Cove when they get that on.”

Corey-s sentiments were echoed by his fellow model Vedran.

“The keeper-s jersey is not bright at all!!” he joked. “It-s good and I-ve had a say in the colours, we chose red so we-ve got to live with it!”

“I like the light blue kit over the black one but they-re both excellent, and that-s just my opinion,” he concluded.

While the kit launch kept the players and media busy this morning, the training session also represented Garcia-s first day with his new club.

“It-s gone really well,” he said. “The boys have welcomed me into the dressing room and I-m happy with it.

“I-ve played with Nicky Carle and Emo before so I-m sure they-ll show me the ropes and the other guys have been really friendly as well.

“I want to play my part in a Championship winning team.

“I-ve come here because I think the club have got great ambition and I-ve got that ambition as well so I-m looking forward to a successful season.”

The new Sydney FC strip can be pre-ordered from the club-s online shop by clicking here and will be available for sale from Thursday 5th September.
