Sydney FC would like to offer condolences to the family of former Chairman Edmund Capon AM, OBE who has passed away in London following an illness.
The 78-year old was a Sydney FC founding board member during the club’s formative years, and was the Sky Blues’ second Chairman between September 2006 and September 2007.
Paying tribute Sky Blues Chairman Scott Barlow said: “Edmund was a true professional, an absolute gentleman, and a passionate football fan.
“He will forever be an important part of our club’s history and sorely missed by everyone at Sydney FC who had the privilege of working with him.”
Capon became a member of the Order of Australia in 2000, and was a life-long football supporter. He was also a former director of the Art Gallery of NSW.
