Sydney FC will become the first club to host a Hyundai A-League, Westfield W-League and Foxtel National Youth League triple header when the Sky Blues Youth League side meet Central Coast Mariners in a December holidays clash.

Announced today, the draw for the NYL competition sees Head Coach Jimmy Van Weeren’s team take on the Mariners at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium (9pm kick-off) immediately after Sydney FC’s Hyundai A-League tie with Melbourne City on Sunday 29th December (6.30pm kick off).

Those matches will be preceded by Sydney FC’s Westfield W-League clash with Adelaide United (4pm kick off) in an action-packed day of festive football in Kogarah.

Following on from Sydney FC’s best ever finish to a National Premier League season this year, Head Coach Van Weeren is looking forward to the challenge of the NYL.

“Our players did very well in the NPL this season and I expect them to continue that form into our National Youth League campaign,” he said.

“We had our youngest ever squad in the NPL and while we are still finalising the squad for this season’s NYL, I expect to name the majority of those players in this squad.

“It means we have some good experience and this will serve us well as we look to have a very successful year.”

Van Weeren, who will name his squad in the next couple of weeks, is also delighted to be playing on such a big day of football.

“It will be fantastic to share the stage with the W-League and A-League squads in December,” he continued.

“I know the boys will be looking forward to playing in front of such a big crowd and it’s a unique experience they won’t forget in a hurry.”

Sky Blue fans will be able to purchase one ticket and get to see all three games, while Sydney FC Members will be able to see all of the action with their Memberships.

Sydney FC will face three other NYL home games including a double header when they face Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday 7th December (4.45pm kick off), ahead of the A-League clash with Brisbane Roar in Kogarah (7.30pm kick off).

The other two home games will take place at Leichhardt Oval against Newcastle Jets and Canberra United on Saturday 16th November, 2019 and Saturday 25th January 2020, respectively. Both games are 4pm kick offs.
