Hyundai A-League Champions Sydney FC are set to face world football superstars Neymar and Kylian Mbappe when they line-up against French Champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) next month.

The game will take place in the Chinese city of Suzhou on Tuesday 30th July, as part of the French giants’ 2019 China Summer Tour.

It’s the latest in a series of matches in which the Sky Blues have represented Australian clubs against world-class opposition, having faced the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal in recent years.

Sydney FC Chairman Scott Barlow said: “We are delighted to have been invited to represent Australia to play one of the world’s biggest football clubs and brands in Paris Saint Germain.

“It shows the esteem in which Sydney FC is held across world football.

“There is fantastic alignment between our two clubs. Two football clubs representing two of the world’s most iconic cities.

“This game will receive global attention and once again raise the profile of our club on the world stage.”

Mbappe thumbs up

Alongside Neymar and Mbappe, PSG feature a host of world renown stars including their Brazilian captain Thiago Silva, Uruguayan striker Edison Cavani and former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder Angel Di Maria.

Head Coach Steve Corica said: “It will be a fantastic experience for our players to be lining up against such world class opposition and great preparation as we prepare to defend our Hyundai A-League crown.

“Every player wants to test themselves against the world’s best and they don’t come much better than the players at PSG.

“Nevertheless, our boys will be ready to prove that they can match it against the world’s toughest teams.”

The Sky Blues will take a full squad to China for the game which is in the province of Jiangsu around 100km north west of Shanghai.

PSG will also face Italian giants Inter Milan and Coupe de France winners Stade Rennes FC on their three match tour.
