The Sky Blues will face Newcastle United in the first game of the Football United Tour 2014 at the Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin on Tuesday July 22, (kick off 7.30pm).
Wellington Phoenix will play West Ham a day later at Eden Park in Auckland, (kick off 7.30pm) before all four clubs play two exhibition matches on Saturday 26 July at the Westpac Stadium, in matches arranged by the Wellington Phoenix with the support of the Wellington City Council.
It will be the first time in the Southern Hemisphere that two English Premier League clubs have played on the same ground on the same day against different opposition.
Sydney FC Chief Executive Officer Tony Pignata said: “We thank Wellington Phoenix for the opportunity to play against two of England-s most famous clubs.
“It is fantastic that the Phoenix is putting on this event and that Sydney FC has been asked to take part.
“Playing against two strong EPL sides will be a great experience for our players and will be an important part of our pre-season programme.
“You don-t often get the opportunity to have games against such quality opposition leading into the season.”
Sydney FC Members will be given an exclusive pre-sale period to a Sydney FC supporters area on May 16th. The club will also alert fans to any airline specials, and Sydney FC Members have discount when booking hotels through Webjet.
