Sydney FC must contend with a short turnaround before hosting a Brisbane Roar side full of confidence on Thursday night at Leichhardt Oval (kick off 7.30pm AEDT).

The Sky Blues are coming into the clash in good nick themselves after dispatching Canberra United 4-0 in Round 8’s rescheduled fixture on Monday night, but face a Roar team eager to press home their Finals Series credentials.

The Sky Blues leapfrogged Western Sydney Wanderers into second position with that win over Canberra and could open up a handy five point deficit over their rivals should they beat Brisbane, with the Red and Black due to entertain Perth Glory on Sunday afternoon.

Brisbane pulled off arguably the shock result of the 2019/20 campaign so far by smashing the previously unbeaten Wanderers 4-0 last time out and another positive result against the reigning Champions would give the Roar a huge amount of confidence heading into the home straight.
