Sydney FC Boosted By Aloisi’s Return

Fresh off Wednesday night’s 1-0 win over the Central Coast Mariners, Sydney FC received a major boost with striker John Aloisi declared fit to play in Sunday night’s clash against Adelaide United

Fresh off Wednesday night-s 1-0 win over the Central Coast Mariners, Sydney FC received a major boost with striker John Aloisi declared fit to play in Sunday night-s clash against Adelaide United at the Sydney Football Stadium (7pm kick-off).

Sitting in equal first position on the Hyundai A-League table, the Sky Blues celebrated captain Steve Corica-s 100th match for the club with their 11th win of the 2009/10 campaign.

Midfielder Adam Casey (one-week suspension) also makes his return to an 18-man squad.

“Games against the Mariners are very tough and to win was good but we look to the Adelaide game and quickly concentrate on this match,” Coach Vitezslav Lavicka said.

“It is good news for the team and fans that John and Adam are back. It was a nice Christmas present to win against the Central Coast but another gift on Sunday night would be great.

“The next two days are very important for the players to recover and be fresh for Sunday-s match.”

Sydney FC has won six of the eight clashes played at the SFS between the two sides.
