As part of the Hyundai A-League’s Harmony Day celebrations in Round 24, this Saturday at Allianz Stadium Sydney FC will look to celebrate with long term charity partner Football United.

Recognised on 21 March each year, Harmony Day celebrates inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging within our communities.

Since 2008 the Sky Blues and Football United have joined forces to celebrate diversity and the achievements of the Football United programs, and Saturday will be no different as 75 Football United youth ambassadors march pre-match around Allianz Stadium before the two teams walk out to a sea of nations’ flags.

Established in 2006, Football United creates chances for youth from disadvantaged communities through the magic of football with programs aimed at engaging and inspiring youth on life skills, leadership and acceptance.

Football United Founding Director Anne Bunde-Birouste said she is looking forward to working with Sydney FC for the eighth year in a row.

“Our partnership with Sydney FC is extremely important to us,” she said.

“The club engagement is deep, long lasting and involves many facets. It is a true engagement, from players, staff, board members, sponsors and even fans.

“It is an honour and immense pleasure to work with all of them”.

The Sky Blues and Football United have enjoyed a rich partnership for eight years and Sydney FC Football United Ambassadors Alex Brosque and Matt Jurman praised the Charity Partner they’ve been associated with since the beginning.

“Football United is such a great organisation they do so many fantastic things for kids that come from other countries and look to football to unite them all,” said Sydney FC captain Alex Brosque.

“It’s a great cause and I’m very proud to be an ambassador,” continued Matt Jurman.

“You can see now all the kids are playing soccer and that’s what brings them together. The kids have gone through a lot of hardship and at the end of the day football is what they enjoy and what they love and it’s great to see so many kids getting involved.”

Sydney FC take on Wellington Phoenix on Saturday at Allianz Stadium (kick off 5:15pm). Tickets are still available, purchase yours now and be there to cheer the Sky Blues one to rise above the Nix.
