Sydney FC has again proven to be a success in the Sydney Community winning high praise for its work coaching local junior players.

Following on from a record breaking month of June for Community visits, the club has again been out across Sydney in July, most recently helping youngsters in Wollongong and Belmore to get the most out of their game.

Sky Blues striker Corey Gameiro headed to his former primary school, Port Kembla Public School, to put on a clinic as part of the Sydney FC School Development Program.

“It was great to go back to my old school and see everyone again,” said Gameiro.

“It-s especially pleasing to see how much the pupils love their football there as well.

“Both boys and girls took part in the sessions we put on, and it-s really special to see that football is a game everyone can enjoy, and Sydney FC is a club the whole family can feel a part of.”

The sessions and the attitude of the Sky Blues staff were also held in high esteem by the schools and clubs they visited.

“I taught Corey and I-m very pleased to see how he has grown up as a young man with a very level head on his shoulders,” said Port Kembla High School Principal, Kevin Tucker

“He made the children very happy and they were very excited and enthused.

“He is well known in this part of the world and his approach was very professional. He got the children fully involved and was a really wonderful teacher.”

Belmore Boys High School were another beneficiary of the Sky Blues- School Development Program with Community Football Officer Paul Reid attending to put on a clinic.

“It-s always a pleasure to come to Belmore Boys High School because the young players are so enthusiastic,” said Reid.

“There was some real talent on show as well and some boys who could go on to have a future in the game.”

Belmore Boys High School teacher Ramy Yassa said: “Thank you to Sydney FC for doing the clinic at our school. All the boys loved it.”

In recent days the Sky Blues have also visited Wollongong PS, Unanderra PS, Conniston, Illawong and Towradgi.

We will also be heading to Oyster Bay Public School and Waterfall in Sutherland in the next few days.
