Sydney FC’s inner west fans have hailed the first forum of the year for helping to bring the club closer to the supporters.

Sydney FC-s inner west fans have hailed the first forum of the year for helping to bring the club closer to the supporters.

The meeting was held at Strathfield Golf Club on Thursday and saw key Sydney FC personnel answer direct questions from fans.

Chief Executive Officer Tony Pignata was flanked by Head Coach Ian Crook as well as Club Captain Terry McFlynn.

Andrew Ruppolo from Concord attended and has urged fellow fans to go to future events.

“It makes you feel like a real fan, it makes you feel like you-re part of the club,” he said.

Strathfield local Mauro Lipo was happy to see the club make the effort to approach the fans.

“I think it-s very important the team is trying to reach out to the fans and they are trying to be more open and be more precise on what they-re doing. I-m very pleased I came today,” Mauro beamed.

The Brazilian was also satisfied with the answers given throughout the night.

“They were very precise and very straight to the point. There was no going around the bushes and trying to avoid questions, so even the hard ones that I brought up they answered very well.”

After the success of the inaugural fan forum Sydney FC will be holding two more forums, the first of which will be at the Golden Goals Club House (formerly Ryde Sports Club) in Top Ryde this Wednesday night (22nd August).

The evening will start at 7 o-clock and Sydney FC will be represented again by CEO Tony Pignata, Head Coach Ian Crook and Club Captain Terry McFlynn.

David Iannuzzi, who travelled from Winston Hills, was impressed with the format chosen at last week-s forum with discussion about both on field and off field issues.

“Credit to the guys for the way it was set up because you had different insights. You had the footballing side of things and the financial side, so it was very well received.”

All fans are welcome to attend and can email their questions to rydeforum@sydneyfc.com
