Football fans can begin 2011 with a fix of the round ball game by heading to Campbelltown Stadium on Saturday 1 January for Sydney FC-s Westfield W-League and National Youth League double header.

Fans can see the next generation of Sky Blue Hyundai A-League stars and the clubs all conquering W-League team strut their stuff on what is predicted to be a perfect day for football in Sydney-s west.

The reigning W-League Champions kick-off proceedings with their top of the table clash with the Brisbane Roar at 3pm.

The Roar have looked the side most likely to challenge the Sky Blue Women-s dominance this season and although Sydney FC claimed a 4-2 triumph in Round 1 of the season, the Roar have since emerged as genuine title threats, winning five and drawing one of their next six games.

It will be all out attack when the title heavyweights face-off with Sydney FC-s Kyah Simon (6 goals) and Leena Khamis (4 goals) going head-to-head with Brisbane-s Tameka Butt (5 goals) and Lana Harch (4 goals).

Following the W-League match, Steve Corica-s NYL side take on the Australian Institute of Sport at 5:45pm in what is a must win clash for the young Sky Blues.

After downing the Newcastle Jets 2-0 last round, Sydney FC must pull out all stops against the AIS, who are flying high in second spot on the ladder.

Both sides have conceded the same amount of goals this campaign but it is the Institute-s attack, having scored 26 goals – the most if any team – that will pose the biggest threat.

The double header offers football lovers the chance to see some of Australia-s best young male talents as well as a host of Westfield Matildas in action all within a few hours.

Entry for children aged 12 and under is FREE while tickets are just $5 for Juniors (13 – 16 and concession) and $10 for Adults and can be purchased on the day at Campbelltown Stadium.

Campbelltown Stadium is located on the Corner of Rose Payten Drive and Pembroke Road, Leumeah. On the Macarthur and East Hills railway lines, the Stadium is situated less than 100m walk from Leumeah Railway Station.
