Sydney FC welcomed 10 of their Teacher Ambassadors to Allianz Stadium for Round 25 as the Sky Blues recognised members of their first group to undertake the program.

Launched for 2017, the Teacher Ambassador program aims to engage children in the community by encouraging participation in football, development of skills and a generation of support for the Sky Blues.

In recognising a number of our first ambassadors, 10 were invited to our Round 25 clash against Melbourne City and given a special tour of Allianz Stadium pre-match.

The Ambassadors were taken behind the scenes on matchday, visiting the dressing rooms, walking down the tunnel and gracing the Allianz Stadium pitch ahead of warm ups.

Sydney FC Community Football Officer Howard Fondyke said it was a great evening for all involved.

“Our Teacher Ambassadors have been fantastic in Term 1 and we felt it was only right to reward all their efforts to date,” he said.

“It was great to be able to show them behind the scenes, how everything works on matchday.

“Their faces lit up when they got to walk out onto the pitch, not many people can say they’ve done that, so it was a fantastic and rewarding evening for everyone.”
