Sydney FC’s international recruit and highest goal scorer Jasmyne Spencer predicts the Sky Blues will get one back when they take on Westfield W-League 2014/15 Premiers Perth Glory this Sunday 30 November.

The 24-year-old forward has already put away eight goals this season and is hungry to turn the score around against Perth Glory who snagged a 1-0 win at their last encounter.

“I’m excited to play Perth again. Our squad is back to full strength for the first time all season and everyone’s chomping at the bit for redemption,” Spencer said.

“I want to convert every chance I get and create as many opportunities for myself as I can.

“There’s no doubt it’s going to be a very exciting game; we’re just focusing on us and playing the best soccer we can and hopefully we get the result we’re looking for.”

Spencer, who is on loan to Sydney FC for the 2014/15 season from Western New York Flash, has full faith they will earn the end trophy, but admits her team will need to work hard until the end.

“I have all the faith in the world that we can win the Grand Final, but I know nothing will be given to us.  We are going to have to fight and claw every minute of every game until we get there,” Spencer said.

Spencer says the transition from the American National Women’s Soccer League to the Westfield W-League has been an easy one and is grateful and honoured to be part of Sydney FC.

“The W-League is full of talented players making it a very competitive league. It’s a lot of fun to play in because you know every game is going to be a challenge,” she said.

“I have nothing but praise for the club. Every single person is a true professional in what they do and has made me feel so comfortable here, and proud to be a part of the club.”

Spencer says joining Sydney FC this season has helped her grow as a player and is determined to keep improving to better her team’s shot at making and winning the Grand Final.

“I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished thus far, but I’m not content,” she said.

“I want to get better every time I step out onto the field; the better I am, the better my team’s chances of winning are.
