Sydney FC joined a host of familiar faces on Monday morning as Sky Blues’ duo Alex Brosque and Anthony Bouzanis helped launch Channel 9’s Gold Telethon at Charity Partner Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.

Kicking off the day behind the counter serving coffee to the staff, Brosque and Bouzanis then joined Channel 9 personalities Karl Stefanovic and Lisa Wilkinson and 101.7 WSFM’s Amanda Keller and Brendan Jones in launching the Telethon which hopes to raise $5.4 million for the hospital.

Following official proceedings Brosque and Bouzanis visited the wards and paid a special visit to the Sky Blues’ number one fan, Gabriel Cipriano.

Sydney FC Captain Alex Brosque reflected on the visit and said it was always great to put a smile on the kids’ faces.

“With the club we’re fortunate enough to pay a lot of visits to the Children’s Hospital,” he said.

“It’s always a tough place to go, you never like seeing kids in hospital that are sick but at the same time it is good to see their faces light up and put a smile on their face when we can visit.

“It’s good to see how happy just us being there can make them.”

Sydney FC are next in action in their first ever AFC Champions League round of 16 tie against Shandong Luneng at the Jinan Olympic Sports Centre on Wednesday night (kick off 9:30pm AEST). Catch the game live on Fox Sports 2 or follow @SydneyFC on Twitter for updates.
