Sydney FC’s Kyah Simon, Alanna Kennedy, Leena Khamis, Bai Antoniou and Charles Lokolingoy channelled their inner superhero on Wednesday as they attended Sydney Children’s Hospital’s Comics & Cartoons party day.

Jester Fancy Dress provided the outfits for the day, with Kyah Simon as Micky Mouse, Leena Khamis as Donald Duck, Alanna Kennedy as Minnie Mouse and Bai Antoniou and Charles Lokolingoy as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Leonardo and Michelangelo.

The players visited the wards and handed out signed posters and posed for photos with kids and their families as well as nurses and hospital staff.

All the players were also tasked with conducting a thorough judging of the ward dress up competition, visiting each ward within the hospital and awarding the top three themed wards of the day.

Sydney FC Westfield W-League star Kyah Simon said it was a rewarding day.

“I felt blessed to be given the opportunity to visit the kids and their parents at Sydney Children’s Hospital comic and cartoons party,” she said.

“To walk in and see their smiles light up the room was heart-warming and brought a tear to my eye.

“For all the battles and adversity these children and families go through, they’ve inspired me by how courageous and strong they are.

“It’s amazing and powerful how one kind word or smile can impact someone’s life. It’s a memory I’ll cherish forever.”
