Football United-s Creating Chances unveiling had a Sky Blue tinge to it with Sydney FC personalities past and present on hand to help launch the program.

Former Sydney FC captain Terry McFlynn joined soon to be Sydney FC Board Member, Han Berger in aligning with journalist Adam Spencer in the Sydney CBD to present the new program.

“With the world focusing on the upcoming World Cup, Creating Chances is an excellent example of the positive capacity of football to change lives,” said Berger, a Football United Ambassador.

Creating Chances is a life skills program for youth and children which combines a mix of practical learning and community empowerment programs with football activities. It is designed to actively engage youth and children through sessions focusing on the skills required to navigate life and contribute to their community effectively.

The program combines 12 life skills modules with Football Federation Australia-s national curriculum football activities to create interactive and fun workshops on and off the field.

Sydney FC players Vedran Janjetovic and Ali Abbas, as well as members of the Sky Blues Westfield W-League squad, will actively engage with the community as they aid in delivering the program throughout the year.

Dr Anne Bunde-Birouste, CEO for Football United is excited by Sydney FC-s involvement with the program and looks forward to the Sky Blues continued partnership with Football United.

“Sydney FC-s long standing engagement as a partner to Football United will not only continue with Creating Chances, but reach new and exciting levels as players join the program to actually deliver sessions,” she said.

“In this regard, off the field as well as on, Sydney FC mirrors the best of football clubs sincere engagements with community and youth development”.
