Siemsen Enjoying Football Again

After a season away, Sydney FC Westfield W-League star Remy Siemsen marked her return with a brace, re-sparking the feeling of enjoyment on the pitch following the sides 3-0 win in #BigBlue

It only took her four minutes to surpass her goal tally at the Western Sydney Wanderers from last season and she credits the change in form to the change in mentality with the side.

“I’m so happy to be back, the group has been so amazing, they’ve been super welcoming and I’ve just been thoroughly enjoying myself since coming back,” she said.

“I noticed that I was really enjoying myself when playing and I haven’t had that feeling for a while with my football unfortunately.

“It was a difficult season for me last year and to come back to start the game and get a few goals shows the hard work is paying off.

“It did become very difficult for me mentally but I think that because I was relaxed and I was having fun the goals just came naturally,” Siemsen said.

Now back to her best, Siemsen wishes to do the most for her team and that includes having her sight on the Westfield W-League top goal scorer award at season’s end.

“[On golden boot] I would love that, I’m a striker and it’s my job to score goals” she said.

“But my main focus is just to make an impact every time I’m on the field and work hard for my team mates because they’re doing the same thing for me.

“It’s a good goal to have but I’m just taking it week by week so I will definitely be trying to score some more goals this season that’s for sure,” she added.

Siemsen was ecstatic with the result on Sunday and says it sets up the team for a successful season.

“3-0, three points, what more could you ask for.

“It was a great team effort all-round, we win as a team and we lose as a team and everything came together in the game, Siemsen said.
