Sydney FC defender Sebastian Ryall believes Wednesday-s friendly against Tahiti will provide the perfect build up for the Sky Blues as they head into this weekend-s blockbuster game against Brisbane Roar at Allianz Stadium.

“We-ve got a long week this week, so it-s a good opportunity for us to get some work into our legs,” said the centre half.

“The match against Tahiti is an excellent chance to get some fitness in early in the week to be ready for the match on Sunday.”

Ryall was happy with the performance Sydney put in the 2-2 draw against Newcastle Jets on Saturday, after losing six players through injury, suspension and international duties.

“I think collectively we did really well. We are disappointed we didn-t win but I think there are really good signs in that performance because we played as a team.

“We got a point away from home and we are equal sixth so we-re not doing too bad at the moment.”

However the former Young Socceroo also knows the Roar will provide a tough test on Sunday evening.

“Brisbane are on the up as well,” he said. “They’ve not done too bad but we’re up for a big match this weekend.

“All the boys look like they are really hungry to get the wins because this is the business end of the season. They’ll be up for it and we’ll be up for it as well.”

Sydney FC face Brisbane Roar in another crucial fixture this Sunday afternoon as the race for the Finals continues. The two sides are locked on 21 points each and a win would catapult the Sky Blues into the driving seat for Finals qualification. Your support at Allianz Stadium is vital and tickets can be bought from Ticketek starting at $25 for adults. See you there Sunday, 5pm kick off – don’t miss it!
