Deployed in multiple positions across the Sky Blues backline, Rhyan Grant proved an adept utility in Head Coach Graham Arnold’s squad during the Hyundai A-League 2015/16 season.

Playing at left back, right back, and as a defensive midfielder when necessary, Grant ended his eighth season at Sydney FC with impressive defensive statistics.

The Sky Blues’ number 23 made 67 tackles over the 24 games he played, finishing with a tackle completion rate of 87%, while making six blocks and 34 clearances.

In general, the Canowindra junior made 89 interceptions while winning 57.1% of his duels and 64.4% of his aerial duels in a number of assured performances.

Going forward, Grant completed 1003 passes for a passing accuracy of 76%, averaging 43.36 passes per 90 minutes of game time.

Tasked with overlapping as an attacking full back Grant made a total of 72 crosses, while his incisive runs inside his marker saw the 25 year old create 13 chances, earning one assist.

With solid number to build on, Grant will be looking to use season 2015/16 as a springboard for a renewed title chase in the Hyundai A-League 2016/17 season.
