We caught up with NPL defender Scott Browning for a quick chat ahead of Saturday’s encounter against Mt Druitt.

He’s starring for Sydney FC’s NPL NSW Mens 1 squad in 2020, fresh off the back of title-winning Foxtel Y-League season for the Sky Blues.

We caught up with NPL defender Scott Browning for a quick chat ahead of Saturday’s encounter against Mt Druitt.

How much have you enjoyed this NPL season so far?

So far it’s been good but it has felt very quick with the shortened season. There has been challenges along the way but personally myself I feel as though I have adapted to NPL.

You’ve been impressive this season for the club, what do you put your performances down to?

Honestly, I think my job is made easier with the quality of boys that I have around myself. I also think that being able to play consecutive games has really helped me to perform well.

Coming off the back of a title-winning season with the Sky Blues’ Foxtel Y-League squad must have made the transition to NPL easier?

The transition has been good to develop my game as the NPL is much more physically demanding.

That’s right, you’re playing against more senior players, how have you found that challenge?

Playing against the more senior players in the competition as a young player drives myself more to perform well, so I think it’s been really good as young player to come up against those more senior players

You have had a couple of disappointing results recently though, how do you rectify that?

The results recently have been disappointing but I feel that’s because of the standard we set at the start of the season. I think we need to not panic and just regroup this week and get back to what was working for us.

Not long left in the season, what do you want to get out of these remaining games?

For myself I just want to continue to play and perform as best I can. As well as to get into the top 4 so we can play in the finals.
