Ahead of Friday’s first double header of the 2017/18 season, we had a quick catch up with midfielder Josh Brillante to get his thought’s on our upcoming clash and how he’s viewed the opening rounds of the season.

Four games in already, what have you made of the performances so far?

I think we’ve done really well and started the season nice and strong, that’s always important. Each game we’ll only get better and better and off the back of last week’s game we’ll improve ahead of Friday’s game against Perth Glory.

On last Saturday’s Derby, how pleasing was the character shown by the squad?

It’s a great sign for the team we have that we showed good character to come from two nil down. It’s a good thing going forward, it shows that we have a lot of fight in us.

And you were on the scoresheet, what was the feeling like when you saw the ball hit the net?

It doesn’t come around too often for myself [to score] so I’m pretty happy about it. I think it was a pretty ureal feeling when it went in, to make it two all.

Brillante Story 1

Perth Glory this Friday at Allianz, thoughts on that match up?

At the moment looking at the past few games I think our performances have been a lot stronger, we play a lot better football so it will be a good game for us and I think we’ll have it over them.

Lastly, the W-League kick off ahead of you guys on Friday, how great is it to have the W-League back?

It’s great for families and fans to come out and watch the W-League before us. They’ve got a great team too so we’re all behind them and supporting them as well.

Sydney FC are set for a Friday night double header at Allianz Stadium as the Westfield W-League squad take on Brisbane Roar in their season opener (kick off 5:20pm) before the Hyundai A-League squad face Perth Glory in Round 4 (kick off 7:50pm).
