Preseason in full swing, how have you found it so far?

It’s good. It’s always tough to be back in preseason but everyone is getting fit again and looking good to start the season.

In terms of your knee, is everything back to 100%?

The knee is feeling really good. I can’t complain about it, it’s like a second preseason for me now so I’m used to it. I’m getting stronger and stronger which is great.

How does it feel to be back playing friendly matches?

It’s tough fitness wise playing again because I haven’t played in over two and half years. Getting used to it all again is the hard part but I’m feeling very good.

These games are very important, we need to push ourselves here in order to get results during the season.

You’ll be off to Qatar for the AFC Champions League soon, are you looking forward to it?

I’m looking forward to it, not being away from my family, but I’m looking forward to taking on some of the best teams in Asia.

I want to get experience out of it. I haven’t played much in the past couple of years so this is a big step for me.

You could line up against the likes of Oscar, Hulk and Aaron Mooy, what do you think of that?

It’d be a dream come true to play against those players. I’ve always watched Aaron Mooy on TV and to come up against him would be an absolute dream come true.

First things first, we’ve got a game on Thursday night against the Olyroos. What are you hoping for in that game?

Yeah I’m looking forward to the Olyroos game, I’m hoping to get a few minutes in that game and play well before going to Qatar. I know a few of the boys in the team and I can’t wait to come up against them.

I haven’t come up against Arnie, it’s exciting not only because I haven’t played in so long but I just want to show him that I’ve still got it as well.
