Moments That Mattered: 

  1. LE FONDRE GOAL – 6’ – Grant plays a cross in from the right and Le Fondre smashes a header beyond Delianov.
  2. LE FONDRE SHOT BLOCKED – 28’ – A corner is scrambled clear by Adelaide and when the ball comes back into the box it falls to Le Fondre who hits a first time shot which is blocked by Strain preventing a certain goal.
  3. REDMAYNE SAVE 44’ – Goodwin rasps a shot at goal but Redmayne is equal to it and makes an excellent save.
  4. MCGOWAN SAVES CERTAIN GOAL 52’ – Mauk nudges the ball against the post and McGowan pounces to clear the danger.
  5. LE FONDRE GOAL 54’ – Barbarouses’ ball into Bobô is blocked by the keeper and the ball falls to Le Fondre who side foots it home.
  6. BOBÔ GOAL 60’ – Brattan’s ball down the line finds Le Fondre who crosses to Bobô to finish with aplomb.
  7. ELSEY SENT OFF – 62’ – A second yellow for Elsey who pulls down Le Fondre after his first yellow for a two footed lunge at Bobô in the first half.
  8. WOOD GOAL – 71’ – Ninkovic plays in Wood who delightfully turns his man and drives at the defence before slotting the ball home.
  9. WOOD GOAL DISALLOWED 78’ – A fantastic run from Caceres who plays a brilliant ball in for Wood to run on to score but he’s just offside.
  10. BARBAROUSES CHANCE 87’ – Kosta runs through three defenders to fashion a shooting chance and flashes a shot across the face of goal.
  11. DUKULY GOAL 90’ – Dukuly scores a consolation for Adelaide United.

Sydney FC have produced a fantastic performance to firm their grip on second place in the A-League.

Adam Le Fondre opened the scoring in the 6th minute with a fantastic header and added a second early in the second half, finishing easily from inside the box.

Bobô secured his 11th of the season with an accomplished finish from a Le Fondre cross, before Wood struck a sensational goal off the bench to make it four.

United added a consolation late on through Dukuly but it was Sydney FC’s night.
