Sydney FC’s NPL NSW U20’s squad are through to the 2020 Grand Final following a solid 3-1 victory over Rockdale at the weekend.
A brace from 16-year-old sensation Aiden Mostofi and an Anton Milnaric strike cancelled out Rockale’s goal from Nathan Manno to give Howard Fondyke’s men another shot at silverware.
The Young Sky Blues’ are no strangers to the Finals Series, having reached the knockout stages in each of their last three seasons.
Standing in the Sky Blues’ way will be Blacktown City, who confirmed their place in the decider with a 3-1 win against Western Sydney Wanderers.
Sydney FC NPL NSW U20 Head Coach Howard Fondyke said he was looking forward to Saturday’s challenge.
“This is another exciting opportunity for these young players to experience playing in a Grand Final.
“Their development can only be enhanced by playing in games with added pressure like a decider.
“This is what you should want as a player and I look forward to watching our squad go out and express themselves against a tough opponent.
“I’m looking forward to Saturday’s game and seeing plenty of Sky Blue in the stands at Marconi Stadium, in what should be an entertaining game and rewarding experience for the players.”
Sydney FC will face Blacktown City in the NPL NSW U20 Grand Final on Saturday 24th October at Valentine Sports Park (kick off 6pm AEDT). Head to npl.tv to stream the clash live.
