Strikers Marc Janko and Shane Smeltz could make their long awaited Sydney FC debuts when the Sky Blues clash with Northern Fury FC in Townsville tomorrow afternoon (2pm kick off).

Both players have be working their way back to full fitness in recent weeks with Head Coach Graham Arnold refusing to take any risks with either player until they became fully match fit.

“I generally feel quite good and I’m looking forward for my first game,” said Janko.

“The main objective is to get in shape.

“Every game is good to get some power and to get good connections with the boys.

“I already have a good feeling with the boys from what I’ve seen in the training sessions.”

Janko and Smeltz both came through a rigorous afternoon training session in the Townsville heat this afternoon with Smeltz also declaring himself fit.

“I’m feeling as good as I have felt in a long time,” he said.

“I think that’s due to the pre-season we’ve been doing with Arnie and Clarky (Andrew Clark – Fitness Coach).  It was all about getting this base under my belt, we’ve still got seven weeks to go and really some exciting times for the season.

“It was disappointing missing a few games with the boys but back to full training and feeling pretty good.  It’s time to step up and get to know the boys a little bit more out on the pitch.”

Alex Brosque is also likely to return for the Sky Blues after missing the FFA Cup win over Melbourne City.
