A new-look Sydney FC will kick off their 2012/13 season in front of the Sky Blues- west Sydney fans when they lock horns with the Macarthur Rams at Campbelltown Stadium a week on Tuesday (14th August, kick off 7.30pm).

Sydney FC will field several of their new signings for the clash, which will be Ian Crook-s first game in charge, and will be wearing the new look strip featuring the logos of new major commercial partner, Webjet.

“It-s great to have our regular pre-season fixture at Campbelltown where we have always had fantastic support and we hope to see as many fans as possible turn up,” said Crook.

“I-m really excited about this game as it-s the first chance to put our hard work and new football style to the test,” he continued.

The game will be the 4th annual clash between the two sides and continues Sydney FC-s traditional community-based start to the Hyundai A-League pre-season.

Over the last four years Sydney FC has played 26 matches against NSW Premier League and State League clubs, injecting money back into the respective local football communities as well as giving football fans all over Sydney the opportunity to watch the Sky Blues play in their backyard.

“We-ve been very active right across Sydney with our community program this year, with the players providing coaching sessions at local clubs and attending different association-s gala days,” said Chief Executive Officer Tony Pignata.

“These games are another very important part of that community engagement and provide an excellent opportunity for fans to meet and see some of Australia-s best players on their doorstep.”

Sydney FC-s stars will be out in the local community again this week heading to the Macarthur Rams, Eschol Park Soccer Club, and Narellan Rangers Soccer Club on Thursday to meet and offer advice to local children in the build-up to Tuesday-s night-s match.

Macarthur District Soccer Football Association General Manager, Glenn Armstrong said, “It-s always a great pleasure to host Sydney FC in our annual clash. Everyone looks forward to the fixture and it-s great for the Macarthur Association to see our top flight footballers giving back to the local communities.

“The Macarthur Rams always see the match as a test as to where they sit with their own playing style and the games have always been close and entertaining for the crowds.”

The game is the first of three confirmed pre-season community matches for the Sky Blues including games at St. George Saints and Manly United, with more games set to be announced in the coming weeks.

2012/13 Sydney FC Memberships are now on sale with Public Transport to and from the game from all over Sydney covered in the Membership price.
