Naumoff Set For Biggest Game Of His Career

For Sydney FC youngster Christopher Naumoff, Sunday’s Hyundai A-League Grand Final will be the biggest match in the 19 year old burgeoning career.

Naumoff, who excelled against Adelaide United in the semi-final and was rewarded with a goal, said he’s looking forward to the uncharted territory of the League’s showpiece event as he credited the entire squad for his first ever goal at Allianz Stadium.

“I’m very excited, it’s a new experience for me with it being my first A-League Grand Final,” Naumoff said.

“All the boys are pumped up after the game against Adelaide and now we are all just looking forward to the game against Melbourne.

“It’s obviously positive for myself [playing so well against Adelaide] but we as a team all turned up on the night and got the result that we needed.

“You can’t just have a good individual performance with the players around you so credit has to go to the boys and we’re looking to repeat that on Sunday.

“It was great [to score] at home, it was my first goal at Allianz Stadium, and to celebrate with The Cove and it was very special,” he continued.

“This [Sunday] would probably have to be the biggest game of my career so far. I’m definitely looking forward to it.”

Since the turn of the year the Sutherland junior has established himself as a key part of Graham Arnold’s squad on the flanks, and Naumoff said he was pleased with where his form is at as he said he doesn’t expect Arnold to make many changes ahead of Sunday’s clash at AAMI Park.

“It’s still early in the week, but I don’t think we’re not looking to change much,” he said.

“We’ll stick to what worked out for us this whole season.

“I think I’ve had a good 2015 after the Asian Cup Break. As a team we’ve come back strong and on a personal level, the level I’ve got my game at, I’m pleased with where I’m at.”
