Robbie Middleby is suspended for Sydney FC’s AFC Champions League Group E away match versus Urawa Reds after accruing two yellow cards in the first five rounds of the competition.

Middleby, who has started four of Sydney FC’s five matches at right back, was cautioned nine minutes before the half-time break in the club’s frustrating goalless home draw against Shanghai Shenhua.

Sydney FC’s Players’ Player of the Season was also shown a yellow card in the club’s emphatic 3-0 home defeat of Persik Kediri at Parramatta Stadium.

Five Sydney FC stars – Steve Corica, Mark Milligan, Mark Rudan, Ufuk Talay and Nikolai Topor-Stanley – have one unexpired caution in the bank. A yellow card for four of them – Topor-Stanley will be a Perth Glory player next season – would rule them out of the first leg of the quarter-final tie should the club qualify for the knockout stage.
