Sydney FC full back Michael Zullo has extended his contract with the club by another two years, which will see him remain a Sky Blue until the end of the Hyundai A-League 2021/22 season.

The left back joined the club in 2016 and will become the latest man to pass five years at Sydney FC, joining the likes of current squad members Rhyan Grant, Alex Wilkinson, Milos Ninkovic and Brandon O’Neill in passing the half decade mark once their contracts have ended.

The 31-year old has represented the Socceroos ten times and is one of the Sky Blues’ most decorated players having won five trophies in his three seasons as a Sydney FC player.

“I have had a fantastic three seasons with this club and I couldn’t be happier to be staying,” said Zullo.

“It has been the most successful period of my career and I am sure there will be more silverware ahead, so that makes it a very easy decision to re-sign.

“It’s an extremely exciting club to be playing for with some exceptional players within the squad.

“Each season we are improving and continuing to do well and I’ve no doubt that things will go from strength to strength.”

Head Coach Steve Corica welcomed the re-signing of the experienced full back and said it is a sign of the confidence the players have in the direction of the club.

“Michael is an excellent player and a fantastic character to have in and around the club,” he said.

“I’m very pleased to have him back with us for another two years and I think it bodes well for future success that our long serving players are keen to re-sign.

“We’ve already secured Wilkinson, Ninkovic, now Zullo, plus some of the younger boys.

“It shows the culture and winning mentality that we’ve created at Sydney FC is second to none, that so many players are keen to stick around.”

Zullo has played 100 games for Sydney FC including 77 Hyundai A-League matches, 15 FFA Cup games and has made eight AFC Champions League appearances, scoring four times.
