Not content with just any seat, Alex is a newly signed member of the Cove, and although singing may be beyond him just now, expect some crying and wailing.
Parents Andrew and Sarah have been long term members of the club, with Andrew becoming a member in the inaugural season, and wife Sarah joining him a year later. Both are thrilled to have a third member of their family on board for season 2012/13.
“We-re very happy that we can celebrate with him and he can join the Sydney FC family along with our family,” Andrew said.
Despite Alex only being hours old when he signed up, the membership had been planned long in advance.
“The first thing that Andrew said when we found out that we were pregnant, was that we were going to end up with a membership for our baby no matter what sex it was. We are a big football family, so it was never in doubt,” Sarah said.
The family have also said that Alex will not be given a chance to support anyone other than Sydney FC.
“I don-t think he will have a choice,” Andrew joked. “We will be going anyway, he will have to turn up to the game with his parents,” continued Sarah.
Upon telling friends about Alex-s membership, Andrew disclosed that many were disappointed to not have thought of the idea.
“They were actually really surprised, a lot of them were wishing that they had actually done the same,” Andrew revealed.
Both parents are hoping this passion in the family can allow Alex to become a player in the future, with Sydney FC-s adidas High Performance Coaching Clinics being looked at already.
“Fingers crossed, if he-s got 100 times my skill he might go somewhere,” Andrew said hopefully.
