Fresh from inking a new one year deal with the Sky Blues, we look back at Sydney FC defender Matt Jurman-s stats for the 2013/14 Hyundai A-League season.

Signed from Brisbane Roar at the start of the season, Jurman made his debut for Sydney FC against the Melbourne Heart in a comfortable 2-0 victory in round six.

Jurman went on to remain a virtual ever present on the left side of the Sky Blues defence, playing 21 games for a total of 1686 minutes.

Underlying Jurman-s importance on the flanks for Sydney FC is the number of touches he had on the ball. Continually moving up and down the sideline to support attacking plays before immediately dropping back to cover, the 24 year old amassed 1091 touches.

Displaying both his aptitudes in attack and defence the Wollongong born defender had a 78% passing accuracy and a tackle completion rate of 82.9%; one of the highest rates out of all the Sky Blues defenders.

Taking five shots on goal, with three on target, Jurman-s highlight undoubtedly was the equalising goal he scored against the Western Sydney Wanderers in the third Sydney Derby of the season that the Sky Blues won 3-1. Not only a crucial goal in terms of the score line, it was also Jurman-s first ever Hyundai A-League goal.

Having played for Sydney FC for a total of five seasons, Jurman won the inaugural National Youth League Championship with the Sky Blues in 2008 and was part of the dual Premiership and Championship winning squad from the 2009/10 Hyundai A-League season.
