On Friday 28 February 2020 from 5.30pm, Sydney FC’s homeground, Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in Kogarah will transform into a sea of sky blue fans for the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave.

While fans will be able to watch Sydney FC play against Western Sydney Wanderers, they will also have the opportunity to support Australians living with blood cancer by participating in one of Australia’s most loved charity events, the World’s Greatest Shave or championing Sydney FC’s midfielder Luke Brattan’s participation.

Every day, 41 Australian children, adults, parents and grandparents will be told they have blood cancer and unfortunately 20 people will lose their life to blood cancer, making these cancers some of the most common and deadly in the country.

Every fan who signs up to shave, cut or colour their hair for to the World’s Greatest Shave on Friday night will have 10 days to actively fundraise with the highest fundraiser selected and personally invited to shave off Luke Brattan’s luscious locks on Friday 13 March 2020 at the Sydney FC training ground.

The popular Sydney FC midfielder is taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave to support his younger sister, Holli, who was recently diagnosed and is currently undertaking treatment for Mixed Phenotype Acute Leukaemia – a very rare type of leukaemia where more than one type of leukaemia occurs at the same time.

Luke Brattan said the Leukaemia Foundation is an incredible organisation that supports people living with blood cancer and provides them access to the services they need, regardless of where they live.

“From a place to call home during life-saving treatment, transport to and from medical appointments and someone to turn to when they need it the most, I personally understand how critical this service is and how important it is that we all rally together to raise awareness of this terrible disease and help such a great cause,” Luke Brattan said.
