Sydney FC enjoyed another successful Study NSW Learn, Earn and Thrive Social Development Day on Friday May 14th at the University of Wollongong.
The students were provided with the opportunity to participate in a range of activities that promoted social engagement, seeing them divided into groups which were designed to develop life-skills, focusing on communication, teamwork and leadership, which they can utilise in the workforce.
The friendly yet competitive teams cheered on their peers as they competed in a social football competition, with the ‘SkyBlues’ team claiming victory.
All students in attendance received a Sydney FC two game membership along with a factsheet to assist students entering the workforce while completing their studies.
All students were treated to lunch and the all-round performing students received Under Armour Prize Packs on the day.
The Social Development Day was followed by a Coach Education Session held at the University of Wollongong on Thursday the 20th of May.
Students in attendance were guided in activities focussing on new skills which could potentially assist them to gain casual employment in a coaching role whilst studying.

'The social development day was very exciting and fun! We participated in many activities involving all the students that rocked up for the day.
The activities were very interesting and involved a lot of communication and working together to achieve a goal, these allowed us to engage and connect with the fellow students.
We socialised and got to know each other better discovering we shared many common interests. The Under Armour prizes were amazing and will definitely be used a lot. We were then treated to a lunch that was mouth watering! We all couldn’t get enough of the food.
The social development day was worth it and definitely worth getting out of studies for! I would recommend it 100% to all the fellow soccer players and interested athletes out there!' - Kayla
